Provincial Grand Lodge - Annual Festival 2022
On Friday 22nd April 2022, the Provincial Grand Lodge of East Kent held their Annual Festival.
This was the first Festival to be held since 2019, with the 2020 and 2021 Festivals being cancelled due to the Covid crisis.
Unlike previous Festivals, this year it was not held at the Winter Gardens, Margate, but at the County Show Ground at Detling, near Maidstone
As was the usual custom, the Provincial Grand Master of East Kent, Neil Hamilton Johnstone presided over the proceedings.
In addition to the usual Masonic business it was an opportunity for the Provincial Grand Master to confer honours, promotions and awards to some of the brethren.
From the Ethelbert Lodge, W.Bro. Brian Blake was honoured by being presented with the Provincial Grand Master's Citation of Merit. This award is a personal one from the Provincial Grand Master for "meritous service to Freemasonry and the Province of East Kent".
Many congratulations go to W.Bro. Brian Blake for receiving such a high honour.
This is undoubtedly a proud moment not only for W.Bro. Brian personally, but also for the Ethelbert Lodge in particular, and the Herne Bay Masonic Centre as a whole.
