Ladies Night 2019
The Date - Saturday 20th April.
The Venue - The Marine Hotel, Tankerton.
The Event - W.Bro Ernest "Mac" Miller and Mrs Marian Miller's Ladies Festival.
The Master of Ceremonies - W.Bro. Cliff Norris.
The guests gathered and as the numbers began to swell they were taken to their respective places at the tables.
Once the guests were in place, W.Bro. Peter Smoothy, the Lodge Chaplain, said Grace, after which everyone sat down to enjoy the meal.
Following the meal W.Bro. Steve Claringbold proposed the Toast to the Ladies which he followed by giving a most wonderful rendition of The Ladies Song.
Mrs. Marian Miller then responded to that toast with a most sincere and heartwarming speech.
As a gesture of thanks, on her behalf, three bouquets of flowers were presented, one to Mrs Rose Norris, one to Mrs. Tina Claringbold and one to Mrs. Nickii Claringbold.
The Toast to the President was proposed by W.Bro. Kevin Claringbold who proceeded to give us all an entertaining guide to Mac's past history.
Finally it was Mac's turn to respond which he did with sincerity and emotion.
It was then over to the Country Super Stars, Sarah Jane "Dolly Parton" Crust and her husband, Andy, "Kenny Rogers" Crust who both provided a wonderful evening of entertainment.
Throughout the evening, W.Bro. Ian Firth Clarke went in amongst all the action with his camera and the great majority of the photographs in the gallery are his, for which we thank him. Thanks too to all the other contributors.
A link to the gallery of photographs is included at the bottom of this page.
The Master and his Lady's chosen charity for this evening was the Strode Park Foundation, a local charity in Herne Bay supporting disabled people.
A raffle was held which raised in excess of £800 for this charity. A link to the charity website is also included below.
At 11:30pm it was time for carriages.
It was good to meet old friends and make new aquaintances and here's to the next Ladies Festival in 2020
Happy have we met, happy may we part and happy meet again.
